Master Herbalist (M.H.)Certificate Program One of the most prevalent approaches to healing involves the use of "natural medicines" derived from herbs. This program is designed to introduce the student to the theory and use of herbs as a healing modality. It includes an introduction to botany, herb preparation and study of Western, Chinese and Asian, and Ayurvedic herbs. Healing embraces a clinical strategy based on the principle that Life, Nature, and the Great Spirit from which they arise are fully present in all the tissues of the body, the psyche, the spiritual heart, and the soul. Master Herbalists employ clinical strategies and methods, which support life force through encouragement of nourishment, digestion, rest, and appropriate activity, identification of purpose, connection with nature, and identification and removal of obstacles to cure on all levels. A Master Herbalist avoids using methods, which suppress or distort life processes and disease, while incorporating all empirical observation, instinct and intuition. After completion, the graduate will receive a Diploma/Certificate of Completion. They may then start or continue their vocation as a "Master Herbalist". It authorizes the graduate to assist in the herbal education, detoxification, healing, and empowerment of others according to California SB 577. Graduation from this training does not include the right to diagnose or treat any condition. In California, you must abide by the rules of SB 577, which can be located at www.cconm.com A required reading list for this training may be found on-line at www.cconm.com.
